About the position

The Engineer IV position at GCI Communication Corp involves working collaboratively across various teams to develop, deploy, and maintain the company's products and services. The role requires interaction with both internal groups and external customers to ensure optimal performance of these offerings. The engineer will manage projects within budget constraints while adhering to company policies and engineering principles, focusing on areas such as forecasting, automation, and optimization of network capacity.

Responsibilities

• Work with engineering and network operations support teams to resolve hardware and technical issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and ensure timely delivery of quality products.
• Monitor and resolve customer issues in collaboration with customer care teams.
• Provide technical content for marketing and sales materials.
• Forecast demand on the GCI network and provide bi-annual forecasts for long-range planning.
• Conduct ad-hoc capacity checks as requested by other departments.
• Optimize costs by consolidating or right-sizing leased capacity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a relevant field.
• Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel).
• Advanced level knowledge of engineering concepts and design principles.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Professional or Expert level Certifications: Cisco CCNA, MEF CECP, SCTE DEP, Certified SOA Architect, CITA, EACOE.
• Telecommunications experience.
• Other telecom industry or job-specific certifications.
