About the position

The Engineer IV - Robotics position at the University of Arizona Global Campus is focused on planning, implementing, managing, and advising on robotics, IIoT, and data engineering for programs and research projects at the Advanced Structures and Composites Center (ASCC). This role serves as a bridge between robotic hardware and software, managing new initiatives in robotics and data collection, while facilitating collaboration with faculty, students, and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement robotics and IIoT projects.
  • Manage data engineering for research initiatives.
  • Advise on technical aspects of robotics and data collection.
  • Facilitate interactions with University of Maine faculty and students.
  • Collaborate with external partners on robotics initiatives.

Requirements

  • M.S. in a related Engineering field with five or more years of relevant professional experience.
  • Significant experience in advanced composites, finite element modeling, engineering design, and advanced mechanics of materials.
  • Experience in robotics, IIoT, manufacturing automation, software engineering, 3D printing, image processing, CAD/CAM, and computer science.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with industry members and peers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ph.D. in a related Engineering field.
  • EIT License.
  • Experience working in an academic research environment.
