The Engineer Log Solutions position at Daikin involves a comprehensive role focused on extracting data and generating reports that assist in performance tracking and decision-making. The successful candidate will engage in data validation, cleansing, profiling, and baseline development, as well as defining scenarios to model various logistics operations. This role requires calculating labor, equipment, facility, and expense requirements based on transportation and warehousing design assumptions. The engineer will develop process flows, concepts of operations, and value propositions that align with the company's win strategy, collaborating with IT to develop system concepts. In addition to these responsibilities, the engineer will coordinate with pricing and other functions to develop cost and pricing models, ensuring that relevant assumptions are accurately represented. The role also involves developing optimization scenarios and strategies that align with the company's objectives, analyzing logistics operations, and building decision support systems. Conducting research to respond to customer requests and providing suggestions for improving business processes are also key components of this position. The engineer will identify value-creation opportunities for the company and develop and implement solutions that range from simple applications using existing technology to complex solutions utilizing the latest technologies such as RFID, self-configuring wireless meshes, and sophisticated optimization algorithms. Participation in additional projects and activities to support ongoing business needs is expected, with the engineer receiving objectives from their supervisor that include work assignments and goals, along with recommendations for sources of information that may assist in task completion.

Responsibilities

• Extract data and generate reports that assist in performance tracking and decision-making
• Perform data validation, cleansing, profiling, and baseline development

Requirements

• 0 - 2 years of experience preferably within a large volume durable consumer goods industry
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or Industrial Engineering
• Experience or specialization within supply chain / operations research
• Ability to use design applications, tools, techniques, and methodologies to analyze and design complex transportation and warehousing networks
• Familiarity with simulation tools, transportation & warehouse management systems, ERPs, Automation, MHE, Visibility Tools, and industry-leading technologies (preferred)
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint - Access a plus and various database applications
• Data organization and purification skills
