About the position
The Bridge Design Engineer position at Modjeski and Masters focuses on complex and long span fixed bridge design, offering opportunities to work on a variety of challenging projects. The role involves performing engineering tasks under supervision, interacting with clients, and contributing to innovative bridge design solutions. The position is available for both entry-level and mid-level candidates, emphasizing the importance of specialized knowledge in bridge analysis and design.
Responsibilities
- Possess specialized knowledge in one or more areas of bridge analysis and design.
- Identify complex problems, evaluate options, and suggest/implement solutions.
- Effectively manage time and resources in the execution of duties and responsibilities.
- Supervise entry-level engineers.
- Use computer-assisted design and drafting software.
- Utilize standard and advanced engineering analysis software.
- Design, detail, and create contract plan sheets for bridge-related projects.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, Project Managers, and clients.
- Convey ideas and information effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Produce project-related internal and external correspondence.
Requirements
- Minimum BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited College or University.
- MS in Civil Engineering is preferred.
- For Entry Level: Valid EI certification or in the process of obtaining.
- For Mid-Level: Within 6 months of obtaining a valid PE license.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in concrete analysis, time-dependent post-tensioned concrete, seismic, and foundations.
- Familiarity with advanced engineering analysis software.
