About the position

As a member of the Mechanical Engineering Response Team at Constellation Energy, you will play a crucial role in supporting nuclear plant operations through advanced technical and engineering problem-solving. This position is designed for individuals who possess a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and are eager to apply their expertise in a dynamic environment. You will act as a resource and technical expert, providing guidance and support to fellow engineers while ensuring compliance with industry codes and regulations. Your responsibilities will include developing, managing, and implementing engineering analyses, activities, and programs that are vital to the operational success of our nuclear facilities. In this role, you will be expected to provide in-depth technical expertise and consultation, directly engaging in problem identification and resolution for equipment and system issues. You will take on engineering and technical leadership responsibilities for both short-term and long-term programs that significantly impact site operations. Your tasks will involve applying engineering principles to various assignments, ensuring that all work is accurate, complete, and timely, while adhering to standard design criteria and practices. Additionally, you will conduct independent research, reviews, studies, and analyses to support technical projects and programs. Your recommendations for equipment, new concepts, and techniques will be instrumental in improving performance, simplifying construction processes, reducing costs, and ensuring compliance with evolving codes and regulations. This position offers the opportunity to work at either the mid-level or senior engineer level, with competitive salary ranges based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage and implement engineering analysis, activities and programs.
  • Provide technical expertise and consultation as a subject matter expert to identify and resolve equipment and system problems.
  • Fulfill engineering and technical leadership accountability regarding short-term and long-term programs impacting site operations.
  • Perform engineering tasks as assigned by supervision applying engineering principles.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work while maintaining proper configuration management and adherence to design criteria, practices, procedures, and codes.
  • Conduct independent research, reviews, studies, and analyses in support of technical projects and programs.
  • Recommend equipment, new concepts, and techniques to improve performance, simplify construction, reduce costs, or comply with changes in codes or regulations.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and 2+ years Nuclear or related engineering experience for Mid-level Engineer.
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Licensed Professional Engineer and 5+ years engineering experience for Senior Engineer.
