About the position

The Mechanical Engineer, Operations 1 at American Ordnance is responsible for performing engineering duties related to process layouts, developing and updating procedures, and enhancing safety measures. This role involves addressing daily production issues, collaborating with other engineers, and participating in continuous improvement projects to ensure efficient operations in the manufacturing of ammunition for the U.S. Military.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering duties including process layouts and safety enhancements.
• Address daily production-related issues on the shop floor.
• Confer with engineers and personnel to prepare operating procedures and resolve system malfunctions.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects.
• Maintain process layouts.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field; preferably in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
• 1 or more years of relevant engineering experience, including internships.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operating instructions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to prepare technical reports.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD or other 3D Drawing/Modeling software.
