About the position

The Microanalysis Instrumentation Engineer at CAMECA is responsible for testing and optimizing microanalysis instruments to meet defined performance levels. This role requires autonomy, proactivity, and adaptability, with a significant focus on ensuring quality and compliance with contractual specifications. The position involves collaboration with customers, training, and contributing to technical documentation and improvements in processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Standard Tests to qualify the instrument and propose solutions to challenges encountered.
  • Ensure equipment monitoring during provisioning.
  • Document and record information related to instrument progress, calibration documents, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), and shipping.
  • Demonstrate contractual specifications validating FAT instrument delivery, remotely if necessary.
  • Conduct Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for customer acceptance.
  • Provide customer training on instrument operation and maintenance, demonstrating good teaching skills.
  • Propose improvements and suggest relevant actions for activities.
  • Contribute to the development of technical documents, including SOPs and work instructions.
  • Assist in the manufacturing process, including assembly, troubleshooting, and QA testing.
  • Mentor new employees following a defined training program.
  • Follow quality and EHS procedures.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (electronics, physics, analytical techniques, micromechanics).
  • Beginner or first experience in a similar position (scientific or medical instrumentation, semiconductor equipment manufacturer, etc.).
  • Fluent English is required.
  • Strong communication and pedagogical skills.
  • Able to learn quickly to complete an internal training program on specific techniques.
  • Methodical, rigorous, and autonomous.
  • Works well in a team environment.
  • Service-oriented mindset with excellent customer relations experience.
  • Experience with ECR processing and BOM management.
  • Strong mechanical and electronics assembly skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • High energy, self-starter and finisher.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and respond to changing priorities.
