About the position

As a Fortune 500 company, Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is an ideas and solutions company. Our corrugated packaging business seeks to be the leader in helping our customers - large and small - package, transport and display products of all kinds. Our white paper business delivers Paper With Purpose by providing the highest level of customer service and operational excellence. We have approximately 15,000 team members in more than 100 locations in the United States that strive to meet the local needs of our customers. Our mission is to serve the needs of our customers, today and tomorrow, with products and services that exceed expectations for performance and environmental responsibility. In this role, the Engineer-Process-Mechanical will be responsible for managing all phases of developing key maintenance programs from conception through final implementation. This includes working closely with key maintenance and engineering personnel to support daily, monthly scheduled maintenance outages, and annual outage jobs within the field of electrical maintenance and engineering. The position will also require some crossover activities to the mechanical maintenance programs to deliver complete programs for all types of equipment. The Engineer will collaborate with mechanical maintenance/engineering and operations personnel to complete electrical or mechanical maintenance projects and programs. This includes necessary training, stocking of spare parts, preventive maintenance checklists, and drawing creation and updates. The role supports the Mills' goals for safety, environmental, and other areas of need, while managing equipment tracking and rebuild programs. Utilizing predictive and preventative maintenance programs, the Engineer will identify and correct equipment issues, input and update equipment information and documentation, and develop equipment manuals for precision inspection and maintenance of equipment. Additionally, the Engineer will manage area equipment PM and maintenance programs, assigned work for monthly and annual outages, and look for opportunities to solve issues, reduce costs, and improve planning performance. Problem-solving will be conducted utilizing the mill's RCFA program, and the Engineer will effectively manage contractors performing jobs, while also performing other responsibilities as needed.
