About the position

The Robotics Department within the Intelligent Systems Division is seeking a skilled individual to contribute to the development of advanced industrial robotics and automation solutions. This role focuses on mechanical design, controls, and hardware integration, addressing real-world challenges faced by clients in various sectors. The position involves collaboration with a talented team and opportunities to explore new applications and industries for automation technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with internal team, external clients, and industry partners.
  • Design, build, debug and implement robotic and automation solutions utilizing mechanical, electrical, and software skills.
  • Coordinate individual performance goals and objectives set by the organization.
  • Assist in preparing proposals and cost estimates.
  • Interact with customers to promote new business and develop technical requirements.
  • Focus on mechanical design.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelors, Masters or a PhD in Robotics, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other robotics-related engineering degree.
  • 1-5 years of relevant academic research and/or internship experience for BS candidates; MS and PhD candidates must have completed graduate work related to robotics.
  • Strong software skills; C++ or Python preferred.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Robot Operating System (ROS) experience preferred.
  • Operational and/or research experience is required for an undergraduate candidate.
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.
