About the position

The RF Design Engineer will work collaboratively with a team of RF Engineers to handle all aspects of RF design, including macros, modifications, and small cells. This role involves reviewing construction closeout documents and ensuring compliance with RF design standards, particularly for 5G and 4G LTE networks.

Responsibilities

• Perform Macro/Small Cell design in Atoll, including antenna selection and placement for urban and suburban environments.
• Conduct intermodulation analyses of antenna systems and components.
• Calculate the efficiency of various multiple-antenna schemes and analyze tradeoffs in selection.
• Calculate link budgets to evaluate system performance and reliability based on received signal level and fade margin.
• Determine parameters related to antennas and analyze their effects on coverage and capacity.
• Design antenna systems, including various antenna types and configurations, to ensure optimal coverage and interference mitigation.
• Submit E911 and TVW's to the CSCF team to meet activation timelines.
• Create RFDS in FUZE and load CQ's via Conquest.
• Review real estate applications for accuracy prior to lease execution.
• Evaluate regulatory compliance for sites concerning health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Conduct EME analysis, generate required reports, and ensure compliance with RFE mitigation standards.
• Review construction documents to verify as-built construction against RF design.

Requirements

• Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or another technical field.
• Four or more years of relevant RF design and optimization work experience.
• Prior experience working with Nokia and Samsung.
• Knowledge of RF theory and design for 5G (any band) NR, 4G LTE, and CBRS.
• Strong understanding of various RF tools such as Mapinfo, ArcGIS, Google Earth, Atoll, Roofmaster, FUZE Planning, Tracker, Dashboard, SPM, RFDS, and Conquest.
• Knowledge of massive MIMO and 4x4 MIMO technology.
• Experience with frequency/PCI/RSI planning and de-confliction.
• Proficiency in productivity software such as MS Office and Google Suite.
• Superior organizational and project planning skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of scripting tools and automation using Visual Basic and Python.
• Coding and automation skills in any language.
• Experience with Model Tuning.
• Understanding of LTE network KPIs and key parameters.
