The Senior Engineering Applications Engineer plays a crucial role in the development and support of engineering applications within the framework of established policies, procedures, and standards. This position is responsible for planning, developing, testing, and supervising engineering applications that cater to both internal and external clients. A significant aspect of this role involves contributing to the improvement and innovation of ABS engineering applications as part of the Digital Class framework. Given the complexity and difficulty of these activities, the role requires a fully competent application of knowledge in engineering analysis, information technology, and digitalization, alongside the ability to devise creative, innovative, and forward-looking solutions. In this position, the engineer will identify opportunities for enhancement and propose solutions to improve Engineering Applications. They will serve as either a leader or a member of the Engineering Applications development or support team, ensuring that all assigned duties are carried out on schedule and within budget. Collaboration is key, as the engineer will coordinate efforts with Engineering, Technology, IT, and other departments for the planning, design, development, testing, and maintenance of Engineering Applications. Maintaining positive relationships with customers and coworkers is essential, as is supporting Engineering Application users. The engineer will also be responsible for developing suggested Engineering Applications development projects as assigned, providing expert advice on technology, engineering, rules, and regulations as necessary. Collecting user feedback and understanding client needs will be vital, as will tracking industrial trends and technology developments to propose new features, technologies, and solutions for the continuous improvement of Engineering Applications. Additionally, the engineer must ensure compliance with ABS Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management System requirements concerning technical work within their areas of responsibility, and perform selected engineering analyses as needed.
