About the position

Responsible for the operation of all nuclear power-generating equipment, including the nuclear reactor(s), refueling equipment, reactor plant support operations such as fuel handling, radioactive waste disposal, electrical breaker connections to the systems, main turbines, generators, and associated auxiliary equipment. Prepares and reviews engineering plans, analyses, and investigations, monitors reactor plant testing, investigates and resolves testing problems. This position is for the Special Projects Assistant Chief Test Engineer (SPACTE) for USS BOISE.

Responsibilities

• Operate all nuclear power-generating equipment including nuclear reactors and refueling equipment.
• Manage reactor plant support operations such as fuel handling and radioactive waste disposal.
• Connect electrical breakers to systems, main turbines, generators, and auxiliary equipment.
• Prepare and review engineering plans, analyses, and investigations.
• Monitor reactor plant testing and investigate testing problems.

Requirements

• Shift Test Engineer (STE) or Inactivation Test Engineer (ITE) Certification.
• 6 years of relevant professional/exempt experience.
• Qualified Shift Test Engineer.

Nice-to-haves

• Qualified Shift Test Engineer on S6G reactor plant.
• Electrical/Electronic technician experience.
• Mechanical experience in Naval Nuclear Preventative Maintenance System (PMS).
