About the position

The Senior Software Engineer at HII's Mission Technologies Division is responsible for developing real-time software to support hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) electronic warfare test systems. This role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to design, develop, and debug applications that meet software standards. Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs applications software and systems with logical and mathematical solutions.
  • Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and hardware engineers.
  • Determines computer user needs and analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems related to program intent and output requirements.
  • Prepares operating instructions and develops compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
  • Ensures software standards are met.

Requirements

  • 9 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; 7 years with a Master's; 4 years with a PhD; or 13 years relevant experience with a High School Diploma.
  • Experience in C/C++ programming.
  • Experience with microcontrollers and embedded systems.
  • Experience with real-time software development.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python.
  • Ability to design and develop real-time software with minimal supervision.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Desire and ability to learn new skills.
  • Minimum Secret clearance required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Linux in an embedded environment.
  • Experience with bare-metal systems.
  • Experience with SoC devices.
  • Digital Signal Processing experience.
  • Experience with Matlab/Simulink.
  • Experience with Labview.
