About the position

The role involves analyzing, researching, and developing structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials for product design, or operation of product to include structures, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronics, power plant, armament, heating and ventilating, equipment and maintenance designs. The position requires analyzing damage tolerance, durability, design allowables, and structural modeling. Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue, and thermal analysis. Tools utilized may include CATIA, IDEAS, ProEngineer, and a variety of software applications. The engineer will provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex difficult problems, working under general direction and independently determining and developing approaches to solutions. The work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives and contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects. Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts are expected, representing the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience.
  • Master's Degree with 0 years of relevant professional experience.
