The individual in this role will be responsible for making technical decisions and will possess superior knowledge in their functional discipline, along with a deep understanding of applicable industry codes and regulations. The role requires recognized industry-level expertise in a technical area, particularly in civil/structural engineering. The primary duties include performing advanced civil/structural engineering problem-solving to support nuclear plant operations. This involves conducting independent research, reviews, studies, and analyses to support various technical projects. The engineer will provide in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage, and implement engineering activities that ensure plant safety, reliability, maintainability, and availability, while also ensuring compliance with customer needs, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies. The engineer will be accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of their work, ensuring that standard design criteria, practices, and codes are adhered to in the preparation of plans and specifications. Additionally, the engineer will provide technical expertise and consultation to identify and resolve equipment and system problems, manage engineering issues, and recommend new concepts and techniques to improve performance, reduce costs, and comply with regulatory changes. The role also involves supporting plant design modifications, testing, and problem-solving, while ensuring that all engineering products are in accordance with applicable safety analyses and regulatory requirements. The engineer will also develop and coordinate functional supervisory activities, including personnel management, budgetary accountabilities, and planning goals related to engineering personnel.
