About the position
The Engineer position at Thornton Tomasetti focuses on providing structural engineering support within the Construction Engineering Practice. The role involves working on various engineering tasks related to tower cranes, skip hoists, shoring, and earth retention systems, contributing to the design and analysis of structures delegated to contractors. The position aims to leverage engineering expertise to support contractors and enhance project outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for structural analysis, design, detailing of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber systems.
- Coordination of design work with in-house staff as well as other design professionals including Architects and other Engineering disciplines.
- Preparation of construction documents within a BIM environment.
Requirements
- Degree (master preferred) in structural engineering or related field.
- Working knowledge of current industry software, including SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, Risa3-D, PCA Software, Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
