About the position

The Engineer Systems 5 position at HII involves overseeing the workflow of engineers in the Space Protection and Response Solutions contract, which aims to provide innovative technological solutions for the nation's space mission capabilities. The role requires a senior-level software engineer to utilize advanced simulation software to support space control and multi-domain operations, ensuring effective project management and collaboration with the Program Manager.

Responsibilities

• Oversee workflow of all engineers in the program and supervise every phase of projects within scope.
• Provide sound feedback and recommendations to the on-site Program Manager.
• Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
• Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions.
• Conduct functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies.

Requirements

• 15 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; 13 years relevant experience with a Master's; 10 years relevant experience with a PhD or Juris Doctorate; or High School Diploma with 19 years relevant experience.
• Deep understanding of the Air Force Research Laboratory Space Vehicle Directorate and customers.
• Knowledge of space systems and techniques used to build models and run simulations.
• Understanding of AFSIM for space and issues involved with framework regarding analysis for space customers.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous JWICS account.
• Minimum 25 years supporting Department of Defense, preferably in Space Operations and modeling and simulation efforts.
• Minimum of 20 years managing engineering teams, overseeing regulatory compliance, and project planning.
