About the position

The Engineer Systems Test 2 position at Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) involves supporting the Integrated Training Systems-Systems Engineering contract for the ITS In-Service Engineering Agent. The role focuses on designing, developing, and implementing testing methods and equipment for complex training and simulation systems. The selected candidate will work within a team dedicated to enhancing national defense through advanced technologies and systems integration.

Responsibilities

  • Executes testing of complex training and simulation systems and subsystems.
  • Test planning of complex operational and engineering interoperability tests composed of components from Navy, Joint and Coalition systems.
  • Supports system engineering, verification and validation test development, integration, and interoperability assessment and certification testing.
  • Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed.
  • Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements.
  • Displays basic knowledge of electronic media, local area networks and associated accessories.
  • Executes additional duties as tasked by Government leads.

Requirements

  • At least three (3) years of full-time professional experience, one year of which must have been in support of a major shipboard combat and/or training system providing quality independent verification and validation (IV&V) expertise.
  • Cyber-Information Technology (IT)/Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) Basic Level knowledge and skills, with a certification in IA standards and policies.
  • Possess a COMTIA Security Plus certification.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl around and lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds in the test environment.
  • US Citizen with ability to obtain an Interim Secret Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Naval Surface Combat System Aegis or Ship Self Defense System experience.
