The Engineer Trainee/Assistant Engineer position within the Department of Transportation in Long Island City, NY, is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). The role may also require occasional travel statewide, including overnight stays, to collect and analyze field data. You will be expected to adapt to various working conditions, including the possibility of overnight shifts and serving within the Incident Command System to support emergency responses.
