About the position

The Engineer (Transmission Construction) position at Entergy Services, LLC involves working collaboratively with various engineering disciplines to design and manage transmission lines. The role encompasses a range of responsibilities including planning, maintenance, project management, and construction activities, with a focus on ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. The position is hybrid, allowing for flexibility in the workplace, and is open to candidates at different experience levels (Engineer II, III, or Senior) based on qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct independent engineering work within the SPO business unit.
• Provide technical direction and assign work to engineers, designers, and drafters.
• Oversee Transmission pre-construction or construction activities.
• Work with subcontractors, packages, and equipment manufacturers on technical issues.
• Review internal and external design for code compliance.
• Perform detailed engineering analysis in transmission-related areas.
• Use engineering principles to solve problems and develop cost-effective solutions.
• Support compliance with industry standards and utility regulations.
• Collaborate with other disciplines within the Transmission organization.
• Assist with storm/emergency restoration efforts as necessary.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Industrial) from an accredited institution.
• Engineer II: at least 2 years of experience in an engineering discipline.
• Engineer III: at least 4 years of experience in an engineering discipline.
• Engineer Sr: at least 6 years of experience in an engineering discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to apply engineering principles.
• Thorough understanding of procedures, programs, and standards in responsible area.
• Good leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent math and project management skills.
• Good knowledge of Personal Computer operations and related software.
• Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Commitment to safety and ability to recognize and mitigate workplace hazards.
