About the position

The Engineer-Transport - III position involves providing technical oversight and project management for Radio Access Network (RAN) expansion projects, particularly focusing on 5G C-Band expansion and Transport Upgrade projects. The role requires collaboration with various Network Engineering & Operations teams across the Southwest Region, including Las Vegas, Arizona, New Mexico, and El Paso, to ensure successful implementation of transport solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide complete technical oversight and project management for RAN expansion projects.
  • Lead the Transport Engineering efforts for a major regional wireless network program.
  • Engineer an end-to-end transport solution including fiber or microwave technologies.
  • Select vendors based on technical requirements, price, and timelines, and support contract negotiations.
  • Design and coordinate the implementation of transport equipment requirements.
  • Inventory all equipment, circuit paths, and segments in CND.
  • Provide all IP assignments for networked equipment through INAM.
  • Partner and collaborate with internal and external partners, providing technical support as needed.
  • Track and forecast project milestones within the Fuze database.
  • Attend and participate in project meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
  • Proficient understanding of Microsoft Excel and ability to work with large data sets.
  • Ability to learn new technology quickly and apply knowledge of wireless engineering.

Nice-to-haves

  • Four or more years of experience in the Wireless Network industry, preferably in a Network Transport engineering role.
  • Knowledge of Nokia Routing Technologies: 7250 Platform, 7750 Platform.
  • Experience with Data Transport systems, including L3/L2 and segment routing.
  • Familiarity with Optical Technologies, including CWDM / DWDM.
  • Experience with Ericsson RF Technologies.
  • Project Management Experience.
  • Knowledge of Granite circuit database (or CND internally to client).
  • Experience with office applications: Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.
