About the position

The Engineer V, Project Quality Assurance at X Energy LLC is responsible for overseeing Quality Assurance services for reactor development projects. This role involves ensuring compliance with various quality management systems and regulatory requirements, while actively promoting a safety culture and quality assurance activities related to supply chain, graphite irradiation, and fuel qualification programs.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure processes and documents needed for the reactor program Quality Management System are identified, established, implemented, and maintained as necessary.
  • Analyze non-conformances and implement process improvement and corrective actions.
  • Work with engineers to facilitate process methodologies and improvements.
  • Assist with conducting internal quality inspections.
  • Obtain/Maintain NQA-1, CSA, ISO, and any other internationally recognized auditor credential as applicable.
  • Assist with supplier evaluations and qualifications through audits, assessments, surveillances, and inspections.
  • Facilitate, provide, and encourage appropriate company quality training.
  • Report to appropriate leadership regarding the status of the quality programs and concerns over significant risks and recommendations for improvement.
  • Act as the single point of contact for all aspects of quality for the assigned project.
  • Originator and owner of the project-specific quality plan that includes customer-specific quality requirements and applicable key performance indicators.
  • Promote and continually improve safety and quality culture.
  • Provide feedback and guidance to junior team members on the execution of core tasks and responsibilities of the Project Quality Assurance discipline.
  • Serve as a mentor to junior team members.
  • Share knowledge related to industry best practices and standards with others across the department/division.
  • Travel internationally and domestically for supplier and customer site visits as needed.
  • Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or related field from an ABET accredited college or university, or non-STEM degrees considered with relevant experience.
  • Typically, fifteen years of experience in a relevant quality assurance role required.
  • Certified nuclear Lead Auditor credentials with evidence of leading and supporting nuclear-specific audits.
  • Knowledge in Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) and ISO/IEC 17025 Laboratory Systems.
