As an Engineer VII, you will lead efforts on key projects as the primary lead engineer responsible for overall vision, quality, and implementation. You will establish and reinforce expectations of the studio discipline throughout all project phases, ensuring that the highest standards are met in every aspect of the work. In this role, you will build, develop, and maintain new and long-standing relationships with clients, participating with firm and studio leadership to vision, plan, and implement strategic initiatives, quality requirements, and policy. You will manage and assist with marketing or other engineering groups, working collaboratively with all disciplines to enhance team performance. Your responsibilities will also include planning, organizing, and directing the work of Engineers, EITs, and Specialists, while mentoring and developing training and educational opportunities for our staff engineers and technicians in all aspects of the work, including communication, management, project quality, and sales. You will attend client meetings and communicate with clients, consultants, contractors, and others during various stages of project development. Additionally, you will perform marketing and business development activities, including building relationships with key clients and strategic partners, proposal writing, fee estimates, and client interviews. Your participation in recruiting and hiring for the discipline will also be essential, as well as assisting Project Managers with fee development for engineering portions of work. This position requires a minimum of 6 years of licensed experience and 5 years of team management, along with an ABET-accredited degree in Engineering or Architectural Engineering and a Registered Professional Engineer certification.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 6+ years licensed experience
  • 5+ years team management
  • ABET-accredited degree in Engineering or Architectural Engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer required
  • Demonstrated practical knowledge of codes and related industry standards
  • Production experience preparing deliverable drawing sets in Revit and AutoCAD required
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency using industry standard calculation software required
  • Self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal, communication, writing, and presentation skills
  • Ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately.
