Gulf Interstate Engineering Co has an opening for an Electrical Engineer position in Houston, TX.

Requirements

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in electrical engineering or a related technical field.
• 24 months of experience of engineering experience in the oil and gas industry.
• 24 months of experience with electrical power systems and area classifications in the oil and gas industry.
• 24 months of experience with oil and gas standards and codes published by NEMA, ANSI, IEC, and NEC.
• 24 months of experience with computer systems used in an engineering environment such as SKM or similar.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of requisitions for inquiry in support of purchasing equipment and materials.
• Prepares technical bid evaluations for equipment, materials, bulk material and subcontracts in cooperation with the Procurement Department.
• Observes factory acceptance testing of equipment in cooperation with the Lead Engineer.
• Performs engineering calculations and analysis as required by discipline.
• Reviews one-line diagrams, area classification and layouts as required by the discipline.
• Reviews vendor drawings.
• Accepts both short and extended term assignments to the site, client's office, etc. as may be requested by the Chief Electrical Engineer.
