About the position

The Engineer position at Ampcus Inc. is focused on supporting the transition of users from AutoCAD Map 3D to the Automated Utility Design (AUD) software. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams in operations and IT to enhance the technology utilized by operations teams. The engineer will provide frontline support, troubleshooting, and training for approximately 150 users, ensuring a smooth transition to the new software.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to users transitioning to Automated Utility Design software, including troubleshooting issues with users.
• Create support documentation for users.
• Host regular calls with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) or larger audiences to address concerns and provide updates.
• Assist in the configuration of Automated Utility Design, including creation/modification of AutoCAD entities (blocks, etc.).
• Modify engineering analysis rules as needed.
• Modify materials/CU databases to align with operational requirements.
• Modify GIS entity mapping schema to ensure accurate data representation.
• Work with representatives from other companies to resolve complex issues related to the software.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of AutoCAD at an intermediate level or higher.
• 5 years of experience with Electric Distribution systems.
• Experience with GIS systems and their integration with AutoCAD.
• Experience with integrations between AutoCAD and other business software such as SAP or Oracle.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Automated Utility Design (AUD) or similar software.
