About The Position
This position is located in the Land Protection Division - Solid Waste Permitting Section in Oklahoma City. The person selected for the Solid Waste Permitting Section will become part of a dynamic team of engineers responsible for overseeing permit and corrective action activities at designated solid waste disposal facilities. The successful candidate will use principles of engineering and regulatory knowledge to accomplish DEQ's Mission: to protect and improve public health and the environment. Learning opportunities will involve extensive on-the-job training. Through a combination of peer-to-peer teaching, university-type seminars/trainings and field observation, the incumbent will learn to assess engineering designs, provide construction oversight, and evaluate environmental monitoring and remediation plans, while working under the supervision of a professional engineer.
