About the position

Weyerhaeuser is seeking an Engineered Lumber Estimator/Designer to join their National Specification Team within the Marketing and Sales organization. This fully remote position focuses on providing technical services and design support for engineered lumber and structural frame products, utilizing proprietary software applications to optimize material usage and ensure customer success. The role emphasizes design and drafting, along with customer interaction and service coordination.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate layout drawings and material lists for engineered lumber products.
• Produce comprehensive framing layouts for floor, roof, and wall systems.
• Perform design calculations for single structural members.
• Consult with dealers, builders, general contractors, building inspectors, architects, engineers, and sales associates to provide innovative framing solutions.
• Utilize design tools and software applications to support the design and specification of structural frame products.

Requirements

• 2-year technical degree or equivalent construction industry experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints/construction documents.
• Wood framing construction background.
• Working knowledge of CAD and/or estimating applications.
• Certification in structural/architectural drafting.
• Background in Statics, Mechanics, and Materials.
• Previous experience as a Designer or Estimator.
