About the position

The Engineered Wood Products Designer at Weyerhaeuser plays a crucial role in the National Specification Team, focusing on providing design and drafting services for engineered lumber products. Responsibilities

• Provide accurate layout drawings and material lists for engineered lumber products.
• Utilize design tools and software applications to support the design and specification of structural frame products.
• Produce comprehensive framing layouts for floor, roof, and wall systems.
• Conduct design calculations for single structural members.
• Offer design consultation to dealers, builders, general contractors, building inspectors, architects, engineers, and sales associates.

Requirements

• 2-year technical degree or equivalent construction industry experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints/construction documents.
• Wood framing construction background.
• Working knowledge of CAD and/or estimating applications.
• Certification in structural/architectural drafting.
• Background in Statics, Mechanics, and Materials.
• Previous Designer or Estimator experience.
