About the position

The Engineered Wood Products Designer at Weyerhaeuser plays a crucial role in the National Specification Team, focusing on design and drafting for engineered wood products. This fully remote position involves using proprietary software to create framing layouts and provide design calculations, while also engaging with customers and market stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions for structural framing challenges.

Responsibilities

• Use design tools and software applications to provide technical services for Weyerhaeuser Structural Frame products.
• Produce comprehensive framing layouts for floor, roof, and wall systems.
• Provide design calculations for single structural members.
• Offer design consultation to dealers, builders, general contractors, building inspectors, architects, engineers, sales associates, and owners.
• Coordinate service and customer interactions effectively.

Requirements

• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints/construction documents.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Wood framing construction background.
• Working knowledge of CAD and/or estimating applications.
• Certification in structural/architectural drafting.
• Background in Statics, Mechanics, and Materials.
• Previous Designer or Estimator experience.
