About the position

The Engineering Adjunct Faculty member is responsible for teaching courses as assigned, with a willingness to teach in person and/or be certified to teach online. The position is for evening courses in Spring 2025 across campuses in Cranford, Elizabeth, and Plainfield.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches assigned courses in accordance with the description published in the catalog and the approved course syllabus.
  • Incorporates interactive approaches, technologies, and methods into courses when possible.
  • Incorporates an appreciation of diverse lifestyles, cultures, and national perspectives into courses.
  • Utilizes the library, writing, and computing technologies in courses.
  • Meets all scheduled class meetings and advises the Division Dean/Assistant Dean of absences in a timely manner.
  • Maintains accurate grade and attendance records for students and submits required reports.
  • Submits grades per published deadline.
  • Participates in assessment of learning outcomes and uses results in course planning.
  • Plans in advance for the availability of supplies, textbooks, and classroom equipment.
  • Submits progress reports on students and discusses any problems requiring special attention.
  • Adheres to College policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree and specialized licensing preferred.
  • Some teaching experience is required.
  • Unofficial college transcripts must be submitted prior to interview.

Nice-to-haves

  • Teaching experience at the community college level.
