About the position
The Engineering & Facilities Operations Manager at Target's Regional Distribution Center in Fontana, CA, is responsible for ensuring high performance and reliability of the supply chain facility. This role involves fostering a maintenance culture, leading a team of maintenance technicians, and collaborating with other departments to optimize operations. The manager will focus on continuous improvement, safety, and effective communication to enhance the overall efficiency of the facility.
Responsibilities
- Enable high performance of the supply chain facility by fostering a reliability-centered maintenance culture.
- Provide strong leadership to Maintenance Technicians, Utility Attendants, and EAM Software Technicians.
- Deliver solutions for challenging problems and manage external contractors.
- Develop a continuous improvement ethic in the team through data-driven processes.
- Collaborate with department leaders to accomplish engineering and maintenance goals.
- Oversee onboarding and training for new hires and enhance team capabilities.
- Manage performance metrics and ensure continuity of maintenance efforts.
- Act as an ambassador for safety and promote safe working practices across the site.
- Conduct safety investigations and incident reviews to determine root causes.
- Approve financial expenditures for parts and validate quality of work performed by contractors.
Requirements
- 4-year degree in Engineering or related fields, or equivalent experience.
- Previous supervisory experience in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to read, interpret, and effectively communicate policies and procedures.
- Experience with multi-contractor management.
- Self-motivated and customer-centric.
- Excellent PC competency.
