About the position

The Engineering Change Supervisor/Manager is responsible for leading, managing and driving discipline within the change management process. This position manages all resources and tools associated with the ECR process, from RFQ to process execution. The ECR Manager will conduct ongoing training and helps facilitate change management tasks across functional departments for all awarded programs. To perform this job successfully, qualifications include manufacturing experience, ability to manage various levels of engineering changes, component releases, product variations, document management, while in parallel quantifying statistics summarizing changes and their various statuses and financial impacts to senior management. A successful ECR manager will be an effective planner, have knowledge of project resource requirements as well as timeline and risk assessment skills.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Engineering Change Module as a tool for maximizing workflow efficiency and value creation within the engineering change management process.
  • Define and implement 'what good looks like' for an effective implementation process for change control.
  • Support the industrialization of program ECR's lineside with ECR checklist and material change coordinators.
  • Coach and develop engineering change control team in the disciplined execution of the engineering change process; ECR, ECN and ECO.
  • Continuously evaluate change process for waste and suggest process improvements for 'what good looks like'.
  • Lead, schedule and conduct change control meetings and publish appropriate EC status information and priorities to applicable organizational leaders.
  • Define and execute short and long-term roadmaps for both change control team and cross-functional efforts related to the PLM Change Module and engineering change process.
  • Continually evaluate and implement ideas to increase value output of the engineering change process.
  • Own effective relationship with internal and external process constituents to execute world-class change control process.
  • Understand dependencies and partner roadmaps; track and remove roadblocks.
  • Execute yearly performance review process for change control team and engage in career development planning.
  • Develop smart KPIs and reporting tools.
  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
  • Lead monthly executive organizational reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelors' degree in technical field, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with multi-BOM (e.g., engineering, manufacturing, service etc.) and enterprise systems (e.g., SAP) required.
  • PLM experience preferred.
