About the position
In this leadership role at Freddie Mac, you will be responsible for modernizing application hosting and services delivery within the Middleware engineering team. Your focus will be on establishing standards for high-quality engineering solutions, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and driving organizational transformation. You will lead efforts to optimize and modernize application hosting services while ensuring stability, security, and efficiency in delivering solutions to internal customers.
Responsibilities
- Assume the role of a service owner and associated responsibilities.
- Drive organizational transformation by integrating cloud native and on-premise engineering teams.
- Consolidate, optimize, transform, and modernize application hosting services.
- Elevate Middleware services to a managed service provider-like offering.
- Develop teams of engineers to proactively ensure platform stability and security.
- Identify, influence, and implement technology, process, and skill changes to modernize infrastructure.
- Collaborate with senior leadership for effective communication and accountability.
Requirements
- College Degree or equivalent experience of 12+ years.
- 5+ years of people management and organizational transformation skills.
- 10+ years of authority level experience engineering new technical solutions.
- Expertise in Middleware services such as Apache, Tomcat, WebLogic, Appian, Apigee, MQ, Kafka, and enterprise schedulers like Control-M.
- Budget and vendor management experience is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to set clear goals and relay status to management.
- Ability to lead current technical trends and anticipate future technology growth.
- Experience in automating common processes.
- AWS or other Cloud experience is a plus.
