About the position

The Engineering Electronics Technician at BAE Systems plays a crucial role in supporting the design and development of advanced electronic systems for the aerospace and defense industry. This position involves close collaboration with design engineers to evaluate, troubleshoot, and test new electronic assemblies, ensuring high-quality performance and safety standards. The technician will primarily work on-site, engaging in hands-on testing and fabrication of electronic components while maintaining a flexible work environment that values personal life balance.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with design engineers to evaluate, troubleshoot, and test new development electronic assemblies.
• Perform electronics testing and troubleshoot prototype circuit board development and fabrication.
• Maintain lab organization and advocate for lab safety.
• Fabricate printed wiring boards (PWBs), test cables/adapters, and perform PWB modifications.

Requirements

• Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot to the component level.
• Working knowledge of electronic circuits (analog, digital, and power) and a variety of electronic instruments such as voltmeters, ammeters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
• Ability to read and understand technical documentation such as electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Attention to detail and ability to solve challenging technical problems.
• High School Diploma/GED is required; an Associate's Degree is preferred with relevant job experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Detailed knowledge of various types of circuits, including Digital, Analog, and Switching Power Supplies.
• Software skills for use of WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, etc.
• Experience with a PWB creation tool such as Eagle PCB, Circuit Creator, or equivalent.
