About the position

The Engineering & Implementation Manager at GDIT is responsible for overseeing and managing engineering projects and initiatives, ensuring seamless integration of projects through the engineering pipeline. This role involves leading a team to design, build, and deploy IT infrastructure solutions for government customers, while also innovating to enhance product development and organizational effectiveness. The position requires a strong focus on project management, stakeholder engagement, and the application of emerging technologies to support the mission of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of architects, engineers, and project managers to design/build/deploy IT Infrastructure solutions and upgrades for a government customer.
  • Participate in planning and designing systems to meet the evolving needs of the business.
  • Provide human resource, technical, and process leadership for the team to identify and implement opportunities for service enhancements.
  • Manage and prioritize information systems requirements and analyze project costs to align with strategic initiatives.
  • Keep well-informed on new technologies and industry best practices and trends.
  • Develop and administer schedule and performance requirements.
  • Maintain accounts, security, workflows, and secure systems connectivity, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in project and program management, including at least 5 years managing IT projects across a multi-time zone, multi-facility enterprise.
  • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience managing using DevSecOps concepts.
  • Experience interfacing with multiple stakeholders and vendors responsible for delivering interrelated services.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with any DHS agencies or entities.
  • Experience working in an ITIL v3 or v4 framework to deliver enterprise services.
  • Experience with Agile processes.
