About the position
The Engineering Intern Applicant position is designed to provide practical experience in engineering under the supervision of a higher-level engineer. The role involves assisting with various engineering tasks, including contract administration, project inspection, and documentation review to ensure compliance with project specifications and high-quality work by contractors.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Engineer 6 (Project Engineer) with contract administration and processing of change orders.
- Support construction dispute resolution and interpretation of project specifications.
- Conduct project inspections and review documentation to ensure quality work by contractors.
- Assist in the supervision of laboratory units engaged in sampling, inspecting, and testing materials.
- Perform routine calculations using basic engineering formulas.
- Participate in economic justification studies for proposed engineering facilities.
Requirements
- Eligibility for a Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificate.
- Completion of college hours or degree from an accredited college or university.
Nice-to-haves
- Possession of a current Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificate.
