About the position

The Engineering Intern at PTC will collaborate with a global team of Solutions Consultants to enhance a smart connected lighting system. This role focuses on defining requirements, updating CAD models, developing augmented reality experiences, and creating mashups using PTC's IoT platform. The internship aims to support business processes and improve product capabilities while fostering an inclusive environment for diverse ideas and perspectives.

Responsibilities

• Work with a global team of Solutions Consultants to define the requirements for updating the smart connected lighting system (Codebeamer)
• Update or create 3D CAD Models and animations using Creo Parametric and Creo Illustrate to fulfill design requirements
• Develop augmented reality (AR) experiences using PTC software solutions (Vuforia Studio)
• Adapt AR experiences to customer themes using Vuforia Studio, CSS, and JavaScript
• Update or create new mashups using the PTC IoT platform (ThingWorx) to represent and interact with the smart connected lighting system
• Develop ThingWorx mashups supporting VCoE business processes
• Adapt and enhance existing smart connected lighting systems to respond to ambient lighting and environmental conditions
• Adapt existing and create new 3D CAD models to support expanded capabilities of the smart connected lighting system
• Develop Augmented Reality experiences to communicate the design intent, assembly, and use of the modified lighting system
• Support the sale of PTC engineering software solutions across a variety of industry verticals.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering or a related field
• Familiarity with CAD software, preferably Creo Parametric and Creo Illustrate
• Basic understanding of augmented reality technologies and experience with Vuforia Studio
• Knowledge of CSS and JavaScript for adapting AR experiences
• Experience with IoT platforms, particularly ThingWorx, is a plus
