Engineering Internship (Winter) - Providence, RI

About the position

Glosten is seeking student interns to join their naval architecture and marine engineering teams in Seattle, WA and Providence, RI. This internship offers an opportunity to work on exciting marine projects in a collaborative environment, applying academic knowledge to real-world challenges. Interns will gain hands-on experience and contribute to significant projects while being mentored by experienced associates.

Responsibilities

• Support ongoing projects alongside engineering staff.
• Conduct finite element modeling and structural analysis.
• Perform seakeeping analysis and resistance/propulsion calculations.
• Assist with stability analysis and climatology studies.
• Engage in mooring analysis and piping system design.
• Conduct electrical load analysis and mechanical system commissioning.
• Participate in 2D drafting and 3D modeling tasks.

Requirements

• Strong academic background in naval architecture, marine engineering systems, marine electrical systems, marine structures, hydrodynamics, numerical methods, or statistical analysis.
• Authorization to work in the United States without restrictions or eligibility for TN visas.
• Preference for students in their senior year or final year of a graduate program.
• Ability to commit to a full-time position (40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship.
• Willingness to work from either Seattle, WA or Providence, RI.
