About the position

Anduril Industries is seeking an Engineering Leader for its Robotics Software team, responsible for developing advanced aerial and ground-based robotic systems. This role involves defining a vision and strategy for software delivery, managing complex customer projects, and leading a high-performing team to innovate in autonomous military systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in engineering leadership, technical execution, and a strong background in robotics and software development.

Responsibilities

  • Define a vision and develop a strategy for maturing the delivery model for the Robotics Software team.
  • Strengthen and grow a dedicated software discipline around the end-to-end delivery of complex customer projects.
  • Execute programs with a focus on technical execution to achieve program milestones.
  • Work with Program Managers and Engineers to set program priorities.
  • Actively manage and mitigate technical risks.
  • Lead and continuously develop a high-performing team that demonstrates Anduril's core values.
  • Effectively manage and execute from early-stage system design to software development, system integration, testing, and deployment.
  • Incorporate software development best practices and provide mentorship to Software Engineers.

Requirements

  • BS in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of professional experience.
  • Experience leading large engineering teams and successfully leading cross-team projects.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Strong C++ or Rust experience in a Linux development environment.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and hold a US DoD Security Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's or PhD degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics or a related field.
  • Proven experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, drones, maritime vehicles or similar applications.
  • Good practical understanding of Robotics principles: localization, motion planning, CV, etc.
  • Hands-on software development experience.
