About the position

The Wearables AI Org at Meta is seeking a strong technical leader to drive the development of next-generation AI experiences on wearable devices. This role involves building core AI technology for Meta's Smart Glasses, AR Glasses, Quest devices, and AI-centric wearables, focusing on creating state-of-the-art large language models (LLMs) optimized for natural voice interaction and personalized AI experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Support and grow a team of AI, Speech, and NLP experts.
  • Develop technical vision, long-term strategy, and set direction for the team and the organization.
  • Drive execution of developing models and systems that are crucial to the end user experience.
  • Present the team's work and plans in cross-company executive forums.
  • Communicate, collaborate, and build relationships with clients and peer teams to facilitate cross-functional projects.

Requirements

  • Experience and track record in landing large product impacts in a fast-paced environment.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in large language model, Speech, NLP, and/or multimodal modeling, in both research and engineering development settings.
  • 2+ years of hands-on supporting and leading teams of software engineers and research scientists.
  • Experience in developing large-scale AI services.
  • Experience with cross-functional collaboration with product and platform teams, as well as non-engineering functions.
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting, building, structuring, leading technical organizations, including performance management.

Nice-to-haves

  • PhD in deep learning, artificial intelligence, and/or related technical field.
  • Direct experience in generative AI and LLM research.
  • Hands-on knowledge of training and fine-tuning LLMs.
  • Experience and knowledge of ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.
  • Experience and knowledge of multi-modal modeling and computer vision.
  • First author publications experience at peer-reviewed AI conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, CVPR, ICML, ICLR, ICCV, and ACL).
