About the position

The Engineering Manager (Application Security) role is a senior, hands-on position at a global tech company focused on application security and secure coding practices. The manager will lead a team of skilled Software Engineers within the Product Engineering division, ensuring that security is integrated into the product development process. This position involves collaboration with senior stakeholders, prioritizing requests, planning roadmaps, and executing strategies while fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Software Engineers focused on application security and secure coding practices.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to prioritize requests and plan the product roadmap.
• Ensure successful execution of strategies and technical delivery within the team.
• Conduct code reviews and advocate for engineering and Agile software development best practices.
• Mentor, coach, and recruit talented Software Engineers in an Agile environment.
• Remain hands-on with coding and contribute to software development projects.

Requirements

• Expertise in Application Security and secure coding practices.
• Strong backend software development skills, ideally in C/C++, Java, Go, or Python.
• Understanding of scalable, distributed systems.
• Experience in leading, mentoring, coaching, and recruiting Software Engineers.
• Ability to plan, execute, and deliver on software development projects.
• Strong collaboration skills with teams and senior stakeholders.
• Excellent English language communication skills.
• Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
• Must be a US citizen or Green Card holder.
