About the position

The Engineering Manager (Broadband) at Frontier Communications is responsible for overseeing the engineering team that supports broadband network operations. This role involves managing staffing, ensuring network health, and coordinating activities across departments to meet company goals. The position requires strong leadership skills and a solid understanding of telecommunications engineering disciplines, with a focus on delivering quality network services on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision of Broadband Network Engineers.
  • Monitor network port and traffic capacities within the network.
  • Develop plans to maintain network health, including addressing circuit congestion and port capacity.
  • Ensure work order objectives, network quality, safety, and budgetary requirements are met.
  • Support the development of the annual capital budget.
  • Familiarity with Broadband network elements (fiber and copper) and Transport network design.
  • Develop and implement plans to support sales, marketing, and regulatory efforts.
  • Coordinate activities with other departments to ensure timely completion of customer requests.
  • Partner with engineering and construction teams to ensure quality network delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in telecommunications and accounting.
  • Knowledge of Inside Plant, Outside Plant, and Transport engineering disciplines.
  • Strong organization, multi-tasking, follow-up, resource coordination, and customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient in Frontier approved computer software applications and systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • CCNA and CCNP certification is a plus.
