As the Engineering Manager for Clinical NGS Interpretation Software, you will play a key role in leading a talented team of developers to enhance and evolve our industry-leading software. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end product development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to ISO13485 / IVDR compliance standards, and driving improvements through an efficient and agile development process. You will contribute to the formulation and execution of the overall software development strategy and timeline, working closely with senior management to align engineering goals with the company's broader business objectives. Your leadership will inspire a cross-functional team of developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment while providing mentorship and guidance to promote professional growth and skill development. You will also drive the development and enhancement of our Clinical NGS interpretation software, ensuring it remains at the forefront of technological advancements, and manage project timelines, deliverables, and milestones to ensure timely and high-quality product releases.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the formulation and execution of the overall software development strategy and timeline.
  • Work closely with senior management to align engineering goals with the company's broader business objectives.
  • Lead and inspire a cross-functional team of developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to team members to promote professional growth and skill development.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as QA, content curation, and development teams, to ensure seamless integration and alignment of project goals and project timelines.
  • Drive the development and enhancement of our Clinical NGS interpretation software, ensuring it remains at the forefront of technological advancements.
  • Own and manage project timelines, deliverables, and milestones, ensuring timely and high-quality product releases.
  • Implement and optimize agile development processes to enhance team efficiency and product delivery.
  • Ensure the team operates within an ISO13485 / IVDR compliant environment, adhering to regulatory standards in the development of clinical software.
  • Represent development practices for ISO13854 and IVDR internal/external compliance and certification audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a lead engineering role, preferably in the development of scientific or life science SaaS software.
  • Proven track record of successfully driving an agile development process and managing complex projects.
  • Experience in a regulated environment, with a focus on ISO13485 / IVDR compliance, is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
