About the position

The Engineering Manager at Pulumi is responsible for leading a team focused on developing innovative developer tools in the Infrastructure as Code (IaC) space. This role emphasizes team leadership, technical guidance, and a customer-centric approach, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. The manager will mentor engineers, advocate for customer needs, and ensure technical excellence in product development while promoting a positive and inclusive team culture.

  • Manage the engineering process, working with product, executives, and engineers to set realistic deadlines and keep the Service team on track to meet its deliverables.

  • Ensure that our products and services delight our customers and drive their success.
  • Guide design and architecture discussions, ensuring technical excellence.
  • Collaborate with principal engineers and contribute to code when necessary.
  • Ensure steady operations and drive a DevOps culture within the team.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as an engineering manager or in a similar leadership role.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to guide design and architecture.
  • Hands-on experience in coding and technical problem-solving.
  • Comfort with building and iterating on both Open Source and Enterprise products.
  • Comfort with all/some of the following: Amazon Web Services, MySQL, elasticsearch, AI/ML, building robust and resilient systems.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, agile environment is a plus.
