Engineering Manager, Core Finance

About the position

Anrok is addressing a significant challenge for internet businesses today: navigating the evolving landscape of tax compliance. With the rapid growth of the internet economy, software businesses now face the necessity of monitoring their sales tax exposure, calculating local sales tax rates, and filing returns across multiple states and countries. Anrok is building the tools that enable compliant digital commerce for companies of all sizes, automating sales tax compliance from billing to payment systems. As a software engineering manager at Anrok, you will have the opportunity to shape processes for an effective team, prioritize the roadmap, and mentor engineers. The Core Finance Team is responsible for tax calculation, report generation, and payment systems for Anrok customers, primarily using TypeScript and React.

Responsibilities

• Manage a talented team building innovative calculation, reporting, and payment products.
• Set the product and technical strategy and implement processes for high-quality execution.
• Contribute directly to the successful delivery of the team’s roadmap through both writing and reviewing code.
• Recruit and mentor engineers.
• Foster a collaborative and healthy culture of feedback, opportunity, and growth for the team.
• Contribute to the Anrok engineering culture and initiatives.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams.
• Significant experience as a software engineer.
• Proven track record of setting individuals and teams up for success.
• Technical proficiency to guide the team through product and technical decisions.
