About the position

The Engineering Manager for the Security Innovations Team at Cisco Systems will lead the development of the next generation Data Plane for Cisco's Hypershield solution. This role involves managing a skilled engineering team focused on delivering network firewalling solutions and ensuring alignment with product management and architecture teams to meet market demands.

Responsibilities

• Ownership of the day-to-day activities of the engineering team, including design, development, and testing of features.
• Ensure cross-functional alignment with key stakeholders on architecture, schedules, and deliverables.
• Deliver continuous feedback and performance reviews of engineers, incorporating input from vertical leads and senior leadership.
• Track project progress and assist engineers in developing their project management skills.

Requirements

• BA/BS Degree and 7+ years of experience in software development.
• 3+ years of experience in team management.
• 3+ years in cloud computing and network security.
• Foundations in networking, including exposure to network stacks, packet processing, or network acceleration technologies.
