The primary purpose of this position is to develop studies, plans, criteria, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, performance assessments, integrated systems analysis, cost estimates, and budgets related to the planning, design, licensing, construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of Exelon's electric generation, transmission, distribution, gas, and telecommunication facilities and systems. The role involves providing consultation and recommendations to the company and other business units or customers based on the analysis of company or customer-owned systems, processes, equipment, vehicles, or facilities. Additionally, the position requires reviewing financial data from budget and actual costs of projects. Key responsibilities include performing engineering tasks associated with critical engineering projects or multiple smaller projects with complex features, evaluating and implementing projects with moderate financial and operational impact, and serving as an expert in a specific area, which may include delivering classroom training or on-the-job training. The role also influences project decisions that have a moderate impact on the company, including leading employees or contractors in the commissioning of electrical systems and equipment to be placed on the system. The position requires applying technical knowledge to promote a safe work environment and enhance customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Develop studies, plans, criteria, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, performance assessments, integrated systems analysis, cost estimates, and budgets related to Exelon's facilities and systems.
  • Provide consultation and recommendations based on the analysis of company or customer-owned systems, processes, equipment, vehicles, or facilities.

  • Evaluate, develop, and implement projects with moderate financial and operational impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply problem-solving approaches and engineering theory.
  • Knowledge of engineering designs, principles, and practices.
  • Knowledge of complex field test equipment.
  • 4-7 years of professional engineering experience.
  • Broad knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, practices, and advanced engineering principles necessary for complex assignments.
  • Minimum of two related career experiences or Engineer in Training or 50% complete with advanced technical degree, M.B.A. or Project Management Certification.
