About the position
Squarespace is seeking a Security Engineering Manager for the Detection and Incident Response (DIR) function. This role involves leading a team of skilled security engineers to implement detection capabilities that enhance visibility into the company's environment while safeguarding both customer and corporate interests. The manager will play a crucial role in fostering a security mindset across the organization, proactively mitigating risks, and ensuring the security of systems and processes that support the business.
Responsibilities
- Mentor and grow a distributed team of security engineers and analysts.
- Establish individual and team goals, empowering the team to deliver on those goals.
- Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team's ability to meet strategic and technical goals.
- Own the planning and delivery of technical security solutions to reduce risk for Squarespace.
- Develop and report performance metrics that demonstrate business impact and risk reduction.
- Act as incident commander and lead security incident response efforts cross-functionally.
- Contribute to Squarespace's security roadmap, product roadmap, and overall planning for the engineering organization.
- Engage with stakeholders across all departments to ensure business needs are understood and met.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience managing a technical team.
- Ability to build trust with team members and stakeholders across the organization.
- Deep experience in SIEM and SOAR technologies.
- Experience working with key stakeholders throughout the business (engineering, product, legal, customer operations, and trust and safety).
- Degree in computer science, physics, or mathematics.
