About The Position

The Engineering Manager for Foundation Models Development at Netflix will lead a team of machine learning researchers and engineers to develop foundational models that enhance personalization and discovery for Netflix's content. This role focuses on leveraging advancements in generative models, particularly large language models (LLMs), to improve search, recommendations, and other applications. The manager will be responsible for guiding innovation projects from research to production, fostering an inclusive team culture, and mentoring team members.

Requirements

• 10+ years of total experience including 5+ years of machine learning management.
• Strong machine learning and engineering background.
• Expertise in Deep Learning and Natural Language Processing (NLP).
• Experience in building large-scale, consumer-facing machine learning applications.
• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Broad knowledge of machine learning with a strong mathematical foundation.
• Strong understanding of software engineering and large-scale distributed systems.
• Great interpersonal skills.
