Responsibilities

  • Oversee team engineers, managing resource allocation across teams to ensure efficient use of personnel.
  • Mentor and coach engineers, conducting regular performance evaluations and providing feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Define the competency framework and rubric for all Engineer roles, guiding professional development and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices and contribute to the development of engineering standards and methodologies.
  • Define core engineering objectives and metrics, providing transparency through real-time reporting and dashboarding.
  • Support Technical Leads and engineers in achieving project delivery goals and maintaining quality standards.
  • Engage in strategic planning and execution of projects, ensuring alignment with broader company objectives.
  • Support project teams in identifying and mitigating operational risks in engineering projects.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of applicable engineering manager experience.
  • Extensive technical experience with defining engineering process standards and metrics.
  • Experience leading a technology organization and understanding current technologies and methodologies.
  • Strong capability in strategic planning and understanding talent needs.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with individual contributors, leaders, and stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in building high performance teams, including coaching, mentoring, and recruitment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with engineering principles, including DORA metrics and other KPIs related to efficiency, quality, predictability and velocity.
